Meres Pinot Noir
Wine
Kooyong Meres Pinot Noir draws from a single block at Tuerong on the Mornington Peninsula. The site is the most exposed to the elements of all Kooyong's Pinot Noir plantings.
The site produces low yields of highly aromatic fruit. The handpicked grapes are wild fermented in large format wooden and stainless steel tanks, with some whole bunch inclusion.
After pressing, the wine is racked to one quarter new French oak to undergo natural malolactic fermentation. It matures for 14 months in barrel and is bottled without fining or filtration.
Light crimson, Kooyong Meres Pinot Noir is deeply perfumed with intense red fruit flavours, earthy tannins and sustained length. Cellaring potential is seven years.
